An early Saturday call about a southwest Atlanta house fire led police to the back of a vacant home, where they found a burning car and a body inside.
The body, found in the trunk, was so badly burned that police could not determine whether the victim was a man or a woman, or how the person died, according to Channel 2 Action News, citing police spokesman Lt. Paul Guerrucci.
The fire was reported around 2:30 a.m. at a home on Westmont Road. Authorities transported the burned-out vehicle with the body to the Fulton County medical examiner’s office to preserve any evidence.
