Cobb County Juvenile Court Judge Gregory Poole defeated two other candidates to fill a rare open seat on the Cobb Superior Court bench, the biggest win on a busy election day for the legal community.
Cobb County Superior Court Judge Reuben Green held onto his job, defeating close challenger Nathan Wade. Cobb County has a new district attorney, Marietta lawyer Vic Reynolds, who defeated Cindi Yeager, while two candidates for Superior Court Clerk Rebecca Keaton and John Skelton are headed for a runoff Aug. 21.
In the superior court race, Poole won 49,797 votes 51.28 percent to take the job without a runoff. Cobb County State Court Judge Roland Castellanos came in second with 25,537 votes 26.3 percent.
