A woman who has accused a Murray County magistrate judge of soliciting sex in return for favorable court rulings was arrested by Murray County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday night on drug charges.
The woman’s lawyer, McCracken Poston of Ringgold called the arrest an apparent “setup” linked to a “rogue judge.”
The Conasauga Circuit district attorney, Bert Poston (no relation to McCracken Poston), said Wednesday that his review of the arrest report did not raise any initial concerns.
But, he added, “Obviously, given the parties involved,it’s something we are going to take a closer look at.”
McCracken Poston told the Daily Report that Angela Garmley and a friend who was driving her home were arrested after a county deputy stopped the vehicle for failing to dim its headlights.
