A suspect in a brazen Cabbagetown kidnapping was delivered to police late Thursday night by his parents after they spotted him in surveillance footage captured at a Bank of America ATM.
Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos said the youth was charged with robbery and kidnapping for his role in the July 3 incident. He was turned over to juvenile authorities.
It was not known Friday afternoon if the 15-year-old suspect would be tried as an adult.
According to investigators, three young men brandishing guns forced a group of friends from the front porch of a Estoria Street rental home. Inside the house, the victims were ordered to hand over their cell phones.
The suspects ransacked the home for other valuables then took captive a man they assumed had money because he was well-dressed, police said.
