Kathy Schrader will replace retiring Gwinnett County Superior Court Chief Judge K. Dawson Jackson after winning Tuesday?s runoff election. Emily Brantley (insert) will succeed Gwinnett State Court Judge Robert Mock Sr.
Gwinnett County voters in Tuesday’s runoffs chose a family lawyer and a civil litigator to replace two retiring judges.
For Gwinnett County Superior Court, voters chose mediator and family lawyer Kathryn Schrader, who also serves as a part-time municipal judge in Duluth and Sugar Hill, over fellow mediator and family lawyer Tracey Mason Blasi. Schrader earned 69.83 percent of the vote, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s website.
Schrader is past president of the Gwinnett County Bar Association and twice made the short list for previous superior court vacancies during Governor Sonny Perdue’s administration.
